Katelynn Joy

Five days ago, we found out we've been picked by a birthmother to adopt her little girl! Katelynn Joy was due on January 9th, but made her entrance three weeks early on December 21st weighing 5 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 18 inches long. She was a healthy little thing with apgar scores of 9 and 9. When Katelynn was discharged two days later, she went to a receiving home with our agency. For the past couple of weeks, Katelynn's birthmother and her mother (i.e. Katelynn's grandmother) have been looking over profiles to choose a family for their little girl. This past Wednesday, we got the call that they had chosen us!

We meet with Katelynn's birthmother and her mom on Saturday February 2nd for our match meeting. Then on Tuesday the 5th, we'll do our communication agreement. On the evening of the 5th, we can start visitations with Katelynn in her receiving home. And then if all goes as planned, on Saturday, February 9th at 1 PM we will be bringing our daughter home.
